Parking and beach access in Ocean Isle Beach
Parking and beach access in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, and the rules that still need a town check.
Last updated October 15, 2026.
Public beach-access walks exist. Plenty of them dead-end a residential street at the dune. The town posts any fee or permit. Don't block a driveway. Don't park on a dune. A fire truck does not enjoy your beach-chair strategy.
Dogs need a leash. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the town bars dogs from the beach strand between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., leash or not. Public accesses and public parking are a no-dog zone all year. Pick up after them. The ordinance is the boss, so glance at the town site if you're traveling on a holiday weekend.
