Things to do in Beech Mountain

Things to do in Beech Mountain, North Carolina: public beaches, parks, and landmarks. Unchecked businesses stay off the list.

Beech Mountain Resort

Skiing and snowboarding when winter shows up. In warmer months the resort has run a lift-served bike park. The resort is inside the town. You don't drive to another county to reach it. Hours, ticket prices, and which activities are running live on the resort's site. Last winter's calendar is a souvenir.

Emerald Outback

About seven miles of trail above 5,000 feet, shared by hikers and mountain bikers. The visitor center says leashed dogs are allowed, and that Ruby Slippers, Witch's Tail, and Witch's Backbone are bike-only. The trailhead is at 328 North Pinnacle Ridge Road. Seven miles is the network, not one loop. Mud, ice, and a closed sign still win.

Land of Oz

A former theme park stood on this mountain. It is not a gate you can assume is open. Public days are ticketed weekends, posted on landofoznc.com. The 2026 Autumn at Oz weekends were in September and have passed. Check that site before you drive up. Yellow brick is not a year-round promise.
