Things to do in Blowing Rock
Things to do in Blowing Rock, North Carolina: public beaches, parks, and landmarks. Unchecked businesses stay off the list.

The Blowing Rock
The cliff that named the town, at 432 The Rock Road. Wind from the gorge can return light objects toward the overlook. It's a staffed attraction, not a free roadside pullout. Admission is charged, a ticket is good all day, and leashed dogs are welcome except during special events. Hours move with the season and the weather. Check theblowingrock.com. On a breezy day you can feel the joke in the name.
Downtown
A compact village main street. October weekends fill the sidewalks with sweaters and slow walkers.
Moses H. Cone Memorial Park
National Park Service land on the Parkway: Flat Top Manor and about 25 miles of carriage trails. The Parkway does not charge an entrance fee. The manor has long housed a craft center, and the hours are seasonal. The paths are wide enough for a conversation and a view.
Price Lake
An easy 2.7-mile loop around 47-acre Price Lake, on the Parkway near town. Water, trees, and a path that doesn't ask you to scramble. Swimming is not allowed.
Appalachian Ski Mountain
The local ski area, with a Blowing Rock address. Winter only, and only when the resort says it is open. Snow guns do more of the work than the sky. Check the resort for current hours, ticket prices, and opening day.
Tweetsie Railroad
Between Blowing Rock and Boone. A historic narrow-gauge theme park, mostly outdoors. Good for a family afternoon if the weather agrees. Hours and tickets are on the railroad's own site.
