Parking and beach access in Holden Beach

Parking and beach access in Holden Beach, North Carolina, and the rules that still need a town check.

Last updated October 15, 2026.

Accesses are spaced along the island's one main road and the side streets that bump into the dune. Visitor parking is limited and posted. A residential street is not your overflow lot. The neighbors noticed. The town site has the current fee, if there is one.

One bridge. That's the only way on and the only way off. On a summer Saturday, that road is the whole plot.

Pets stay off the strand from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 20 through September 10. Outside those hours they need a leash. Pick up after them. The town FAQ is the short version of the ordinance.
