Things to do in Holden Beach
Things to do in Holden Beach, North Carolina: public beaches, parks, and landmarks. Unchecked businesses stay off the list.

The strand
Eight miles of oceanfront. Room to walk until your calves file a complaint. The town does not staff lifeguards, and it allows only emergency and official vehicles on the sand. Inlets at both ends are for staring at, not swimming.
Holden Beach Pier
The oceanfront landmark. Fish, or stand there and look back along the rooftops. Whether the pier is open, and what a walk costs, is posted by the operator. Check before you build a day around it.
The mainland side of the bridge
Errands and most meals live over here. The island is for sleeping and being sandy. It is not a downtown, and it is not trying to be one.
The waterway
Marsh, boat traffic, a different afternoon from the surf. A public ramp and its fee, if there is one, are town business. Check Holden Beach before you back a trailer down.
